HOW IT WORKS - A SIMPLE PROCESS Fighters will be able to challenge other fighters online. When challenged, fighters will receive a voice or email. They can then go to their Web page and accept the challenge. The fighter who made the challenge will then be notified by voice or email that their challenge has been accepted. This fight is then transferred to MadeFights.com which lists their "made" fight for promoters to access online. SORTING THE DATABASE OF OPPONENTS Matchmaking begins by selecting from each of eight drop-down menus: (1) male or female (2) weight class (3) height (4) country, state or region (NW, NE, etc., US only) (5) city (6) rounds in last fight (4, 6, 8, 10, or 12) (7) experience and fight results: (8) Dependability Rating - Promoters' Polling ARRANGING POSSIBLE OPPONENTS After sorting the database of fighters using very selective criteria, the list can be quickly rearranged in a variety of ways, making easy comparisons of the records of all the boxers in a particular weight class and area. By clicking any one of the column headings above, the order in which the boxers are listed is changed. Their order will be based upon their records by fight results according to the heading clicked. The column selected will be highlighted so that the data chosen stands out. BESTMATCHES The BestMatches feature will encourage the making of quality fights and quicker turnover of made fight inventory. It will be an automatic sorting feature and the easiest way to make challenges for fights with high marketability. It will simplify the process and save search time for fighters and managers. Each fighters template homepage with their record will have a link titled "BestMatches" which will take them to a page with a specially preselected, sortable database of BestMatches." This database will list fighters with identical win-loss records first, followed by those with the most similar record. Making fights with fighters with similar records will appeal to promoters and fans and will be quickly approved by state athletic commissions as a competitive match. BestMatches will appeal to fighters confident about their competitive skills and anxious to get more fights and fight often. The BestMatches feature will also be offered as a sorting feature for promoters at MadeFights.com to assist them in quickly finding the best matches, avoiding mismatches, and putting on exciting, highly competitive fights. NARROWING CHOICES Once the records of all possible opponents are narrowed and analyzed, the boxer can then click the name of the fighter he is considering, and is taken to that fighter's page. It will list past opponents, dates, locations, and results, as well as the fighter's weight at the time of each fight. Boxers, trainers, managers, promoters, television producers, and fans may then click "Film" to view a video of a prospective opponent's recent fight to evaluate physical characteristics, ability, and style. This is the feature that will also enable fans to view fights they missed or wish to see again. Viewing past fights when searching for an opponent to challenge could be a significant source of residual income for mediocre undercard and 10-round fighters in great demand as opponents. See Fight Films: Royalties and Residuals for a discussion of this new revenue sharing model. SELECTING OPPONENTS AND ACCEPTING CHALLENGES Every boxer will have three fight-making pages linked from his homepage, which only he can access -- boxers can access each other's homepages only. From his homepage, each fighter can link to his: (1) - Page of Fighters Challenged - those he has "called out," (2) - Page of Challengers - those who have "called him out," and (3) - Page of Made Fights - page of fighters who have accepted his challenge or whose challenge he has accepted. Clicking the name of the opponent selected takes you to his profile page. The fighter then types in his name under Name of Challenger, indicating he wants to fight him. He enters the purse he desires, earliest date, and number of rounds, clicks "ENTER," and his challenge will be communicated by email or cell phone to the challenged opponent. At the same time the opponent is notified that he has been challenged, the challenging fighter will be listed as a challenger on the opponent's Page of Challengers. To select the best challenges, the Page of Challengers can be arranged and rearranged by country, state, city, purse, date, height, number of wins and losses, percentage of KO's, and by win-loss percentage. Conversely, when the opponent is notified that he has been challenged, the name of the opponent challenged will appear on the challenger's Page of Fighters Challenged. A fighter will be able to review at any time three separate pages, all of which are linked from his personal homepage. The first lists fighters he has challenged. The second page lists challenges from other fighters. Each fighter also has a third page, "Made Fights," a personal list of made fights which are comprised of fighters whose names appear on both pages. SELF-MATCHMAKING A name which appears on both lists -- the fighters he has challenged and the fighters who have challenged him -- is a made fight. This indicates the fighter he has challenged has accepted his challenge on his Page of Challenges or by challenging him. Made fights are transferred to another database at MadeFights.com for promoters to sort and buy for cards all over the world. GetAFight.com will redefine matchmaking and the way boxers, their managers, and promoters do business. - FightersOnline Home - GetAFight Home |
