AN AMATEUR SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT FARM PROGRAM
MODELED AFTER SUCCESSES IN OTHER SPORTS

LOCATING THE FARM CLUB

A CONSENSUS

There is a concensus among managers of the most successful farm programs for discovering talent in the other sports: The keys are recruiting location and an accurate, thorough, and efficient selection process, followed with training in fundamentals by very good trainers.

WE KNOW YOU WILL UNDERSTAND

The major league sports teams are pretty secretive about their methodology and where they put their farm clubs to discover talent. Sports recruiting is so competitive that confidentiality is very important -- especially when, as in our case, you want to be the first one there and get all the first round draft choices.

When a major league club publicizes the location of a new farm club for a development program, they only do it locally -- where the athletes are -- to draw out the talent without the competition knowing about the talent before they're signed up. That’s why signing bonuses are low.

Determining the best methods and locations for a super heavyweight farm club has been a very time consuming and expensive process. We have scouted different groups of athletes (other than boxing) in 17 foreign countries, and in one case, hired an indigenous scout to go to some politically unstable West African countries. This illustrates the time, effort, and expense involved in combing a variety of areas where there are big strong heavyweights to find the best areas for locating farm clubs. West Africa has some great prospects but is not as favorable as some other regions.

As it turned out, some very good areas happened to be surprisingly convenient. Some pools were in politically stable and economical areas with reasonable exchange rates for paying for the athletes' and trainers' living expenses during the evaluation and training. These areas are economically developing and there is little competition from other sports. Recruiting in some areas would make a great documentary for the Discovery Channel.

The way the sports entertainment industry is exploding worldwide, we know the opportunity won't last forever. Few boxing promotion companies have the sophistication and true understanding of boxing to implement this program well. Our target areas and methodology are confidential. The world heavyweight champion is the most valuable single professional athlete in the world.

AN INTERESTING SIDELINE

One of Ringstar's board members, Dr. Brad Rothermel, used to be the Athletic Director of Jerry Tarkanian, the great UNLV basketball coach. Jerry was a very imaginative recruiter who would go to great lengths to discover raw, totally untrained talent which he knew he could mold into a star.

Great coaches like Tarkanian recognize how critical recruiting is, even for those coaches who excell in training of fundamentals. Finding an area rich in raw talent is all-important to the success of any sports program – and it's critical to keep your recruiting confidential. Coach Tarkanian realized that a natural athlete can learn quickly and with outstanding training can become a star. Tarkanian found an unproven, natural athlete in Africa who had never seen a basketball. He was playing soccer. Tarkanian kept quiet until he had the athlete signed. Tarkanian developed him into an NBA basketball star.

If you are an interested sponsor, please understand that you will be the first to get the who, where, and details of our testing and training methods. We want to keep quiet for good reasons. Trust our judgement. We've done our homework.
